Tales from the Anarchist Jurisdiction

TALES FROM THE ANARCHIST JURISDICTION is a prose-poem odyssey through New York, narrated by a wandering spirit exiled from both heaven and hell.

TALES is untethered from time and space yet deeply rooted in the geography and history of the city of New York, its passions, pains, rhythms and reveries. The multimedia design of this zine, conceptualized by the author, incorporates screenshots to evoke the feeling of reading someone’s private thoughts over their shoulder on the subway. TALES explores themes of nonbinary identity, dissociative experience and faith through Aisling's perspective as a Black trans person, a native New Yorker and a visionary artmaker.
